Zendala Dare #95

Yeah! Erin of www.thebrightowl.blogspot.com is back with her wonderful Zendala templates! I'm so, so, very happy! These take me longer than other challenges or practices it seems, but I enjoy them so much! My first look at this week's template I saw beehives and well, not much else. But after a bit of thought, and playing around by using the template as a "guideline", this is what I came up with. Yup, I'm happy with it and would love to hear your thoughts. Now to go check out the other entries! So glad to see Erin back!!

Zentangle Challenge #182 - Stripes

I LOVE stripes! Especially when they twine or knot. This is my entry (two tiles) for this week's Zentangle Challenge from Laura at www.iamthedivazct.blogspot.ca. I haven't blogged my entries for the past while, though I have been doing them. Maybe it's the end of summer blues, but this week I have been back in the zone, catching up on missed new tangles, updating my notes and illustrations of "how to's", and trying tangles that I either haven't used before, or haven't used in a while. (I've also started an exercise program that includes yoga, Zumba, and Pilates… and that helps!)

Zentangle Challenge #113 - String Theory - Hip to be Square

This week's challenge from Laura at www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca is to use squares within squares as the string. Last year I started a series of postcards on which I post a small photo printed from my pogo printer, then decorated with Zentangles. I only got three done last year, but this challenge reminded me of them so here is my entry for this challenge. I took a photo last summer of my rock garden which is overseen by my wood carving "Merlin", and his statuary companions, a Mexican gecko, and fisherman frog. That's what's in the center of this postcard. Chordin is one of my favorite tangles, though it's much darker here than I usually do it. This is the first time I've used Z-trik - LOVE the way this tangle looks! I'm happy with this postcard!

Zentangle Celtic Challenge #10

This is my first time doing the Celtic Challenge (www.creativedoodlingwithjudy.blogspot.ca). I loved this template and so I added another copy of the template and one more ring to make a ZIA... The original template is the two squares and one circle in the lower right hand corner. You can see her original template, and the 9 other celtic templates she has done so far by visiting her blog.

Zendala Dare #12

Thanks again Erin (www.thebrightowl.blogspot.ca) for another great zendala template. I knew I wouldn't want to do just one of this design so I've put 3, plus separate parts, together as a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art). Tangles I used: H2O Lilly, Prestwood, "C" scape, Linq, Daggerly, Echoism (I loved what you did Erin in your example, so I hope you don't mind, but I copied you...), Coil, Tipple, Golven, Hybrid, Squid, Arches, Chainlea, Pepper, and another that I think is called TH@ by Margaret Bremner. Now I want to work on this week's Zentangle Challenge, and check out all the entries for the past week for both the Dare and Challenge as I haven't had much free time to browse.... I love looking at what other people have done, and reading the comments! Such a wonderful Zentangle community!!
