Zendala Dare #106

I love Copada and this is what happened when I saw this week's Zendala from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.com. I used black, blue and sepia microns, a pencil, and blue and sepia chalk pencils for shading.

Zendala Dare #100 !! Wow, 100 Zendala's - so wonderful!

This is my celebratory contribution to the 100th zendala template from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.com. I haven't done every zendala, but pretty close, and many I've used several times. I love playing with the templates. Sometimes Erin adds in a twist, and she was subtle about this one - encouraging us to celebrate. So with Easter coming up next weekend, I decided that this template was great for easter eggs, and jelly beans in a sort of basket. I had intended to do something more with the 5 Copada-like things on the outside, but they weren't speaking to me so I left them as is… Happy Easter everyone, and happy spring!

Zendala Dare #92

I really like the template from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.ca this week. But when I started to transfer it into the lovely journal we got at CZT training, I felt the page was calling out for a bit more… this is the result, and I'm quite happy with it. I haven't used Fengle in a long time, nor Blooming-butter.

Zendala Dare #55

I had fun doing this week's Zendala Dare, in fact, I did two! This template called out to put in Auraknot so I had to do one with it, but I also wanted to do one without. I tried to keep them both fairly simple and used all tangles I love and am familiar with.

Zentangle Challenge #85 - Copada

I wanted to experiment with Copada and I already had a "string" of interlocking circles waiting for the right inspiration, so here is my contribution to Zentangle Weekly Challenge #85 - UMT (Use my Tangle) #85 - Copada (Iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca). Originally it was going to be the traditional black/white/shading... but it was calling out for a bit of color. I'm afraid of using color as I don't have an art background and very little experience, but I guess you learn some by trying - so here it is. After seeing everyone put their "blind" string before and after online, I thought that was a good idea - especially when I'm trying something sort of new or experimental; so I've also included my uncolored ZIA. Am I happy with it? Sort of - though the colors are a bit washed out (I was going for subtle), and next time I try color, I'll go a bit bolder. Also, much of the shading doesn't show up on scanning, but if I darken the original, it looks too dark for my liking.
