Zentangle Challenge #290 - Duo-Tangle: Flux and 'NZeppel

Here is another wonderful challenge from Laura at www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca! This week we are to do a Duo-Tangle, using only Flux and 'NZeppel. I LOVE them both, but find that I rarely use Flux - no reason, but I use 'NZeppel a lot! So it was fun to put them together. I almost wasn't going to shade this at all - I quite liked it plain. In the end, I decided to add a bit of graphite, which was fine too, but I rather wish I hadn't… *(I would like to add here that I love to see everyone's interpretation of the challenges, and I try to comment on those that I can. But I don't have an Instagram, or Flickr account, and Pinterest makes me log in each time I want to comment, so to those who post that way, please note that I am enjoying your photos but you won't be getting likes or comments from me. I often also won't comment when someone has posted several challenges on their blog because I just don't have time….)

Zendala Dare #114

Another great template this week from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.com. Not one of my favourite end products, but I had fun with the colour. And at least it's on time; last weeks entry went in late. I've been busy preparing for a new set of Zentangle classes, and finishing up a few of the many projects from Camerida (a wonderful weekend spent at the studio of Chris Titus in Wyoming, N.Y. with 25 Canadian and American CZT's)! I've been using this blog only for Zentangle challenges and Dares, but I'm thinking that I should be writing about the other wonderful Zentangle adventures I've been on this year: Tropical Tangle Garden with Cherryl Moote in Elora, Ontario, CanTangle in Regina, Saskatchewan, and Camerida in Wyoming, N.Y. Stay tuned ….

Zentangle Challenge #225 - Color (Guest Post - Jen Crutchfield)

Wow, I managed 4 tiles for this week's Diva Challenge presented by guest Jen Crutchfield, CZT. We were asked to introduce colour… something I'm not comfortable with, but LOVE! I started with a grey tile and used blue and sepia ink and chalk pencils. I actually drew out this tile last week for the Square One Challenge to use Meer, but didn't like the tile so set it aside. I love it with colour!) My two pinkish tiles were background dyed using watered down Tombow markers and have been sitting around for a while - this was the perfect chance to play with them. I used Tombow markers to colour and shade the two more colourful tiles. What fun I've had using colour, and also trying a few new to me tangles! Great challenge!

Zendala Dare #83 - Baby, it's cold out there!

I like this Zendala template a lot, but my end result isn't what I anticipated, as usually happens! I was trying to make a wreath, some ornaments, and snow swirling… I should know better than to make it try to look like something in particular. I'm not unhappy with this, and it was the first time using Floo, which I really like. It looks a bit cool in the centre, but maybe has the anticipation of spring in the outer wreath? I used water colour pencils for the colour.

Zendala Dare #63

When I first saw this weeks zendala template from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.ca, I didn't have a clue what to do with it - no sudden inspirations. So, sitting out on the front porch on a hot sticky afternoon I just let the pen take me where it wanted. Those are the templates that give me the best "Zen". (I tend to over plan and think about which tangles to use...) Whimsical and yet delicate - I'm quite happy with this one.

Zendala Dare #27 - 2nd try

This is my second try, and I'm much happier with this one. I had to make another attempt and now I can move on to the Zentangle Challenge! (Yep, the housework and cleaning up the garden can wait a bit longer :)...)

Zendala Dare #7

This is week 7 of Erin's Zendala Dare (http://thebrightowl.blogspot.ca), and I'm loving these mandala templates. I recently received my tin of pre-printed tiles which I also love, but it's really neat to see the many interpretations and individual characteristics come out when so many people follow the same pattern then post the results. This week I decided to do the larger size as I had a bit more time (sitting out on the patio in great weather)! Flux is a tangle I see often, and since the instructions are not posted, I did what I could with it based on my memory of what I've seen. Let me know if I'm way off base, ok? Ixorus, Archer and Lokomotive are some of my favorite tangles. I really like this mandala and may do one of the smaller versions later in the week. Thanks again Erin!
