This week's Zentangle Challenge from Laura at www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca is to incorporate a valentine theme. I started out with a heart string in the middle… then picked up a red micron and drew a grid with some hearts in corners, then randomly selected 4 tangles from my workbooks. Like it, yes, but am not feeling the "love". So, maybe I'll have to do another!

Zendala Dare #67
Another great template from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.ca! I have the 12 year old daughter of a friend staying with me for the week and we've been all over Toronto seeing the sights and taking in events so it's been a wonderful, busy week. She's also been trying her hand at a few tangles and the first one she chose was Bitten, which I've used a couple of times before. Her fresh, sharp eyes caught that I had been doing it wrong! Now that I see how to really do it - I LOVE this pattern and will definitely use it more often. It also reinforced what a wonderful resource www.tanglepatterns.com is!

Zendala Challenge #77 - Fiore di Pietro (Peter's Flower)
This is my entry for the week's Zentangle Challenge (www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca) which was to create using the tangle Fiore di Pietro (Peter's Flower). This tangle was designed in memory of Rho Densmore's brother in law. This postcard uses her tangle in memory of my cat Patch who passed away over a year ago and is remembered with a cat statue which sits in my garden, just as she loved to. The photo was printed on my Pogo printer and the postcard is part of a series I'm doing combining Pogo photo's and Zentangle. Rho, you may use my entry for your memorial book, if you wish.
You've created a wonderful tangle in memory of Peter!

Zendala Dare #4 - Mexico
Erin at the "The Bright Owl" http://thebrightowl.blogspot.ca (for some reason I can't provide the direct link) has provided us with templates of a mandala to tangle as part of her Zendala dare. This week she has also asked us to use a theme of Mexico and/or Ocean. Erin has been on a Mexican cruise and thus the inspiration! Love this "dare" as my husband and I didn't get away on a Mexican vacation this year so I went back to some photo's of our trips to Mexico over the past three years and it brought back so many memories! I love the colors of Mexico, in nature and art and clothes and buildings.... I couldn't get sombrero's out of my mind while I was tangling... so I've added some in as part of the border. Thanks Erin - great dare!

Zentangle Weekly Challenge #63 - Fengle
This week's I am the Diva Zentangle is to use the new tangle Fengle. I first saw this tangle about a week ago and fell in love with it. Thank you for adding it to the official zentangles and giving such great instructions and so many examples of how it can be used! In fact, after seeing all the variations that Rick and Maria had done, I wondered if we could come up with any new ideas! My first attempt was originally going to be overlapping Fengles, with variations.... but it just grew into a seascape, then called for color! It's not what I had in mind, but I enjoy playing with watercolor pencils which I've only used a couple of times.
My second try was much more to my liking. Simple, bold, and hopefully a bit different. I do love white spaces....
