Zentangle Challenge #322 - Aquafleur

Aquafleur is the Tangle we are to use in this week's Diva Challenge (www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca). This was the tangle for my certification so I have a particular fondness for it, though my conundrum is always what to do with a background if it is the main focus. I love it on it's own. I haven't used it for a while, so I'm particularly happy this challenge has me working with it again. I did two tiles… and will probably play with a couple more over the next few days. The blue and green colours on the Renaissance tile is done with the Stabillo All pencils.

Zendala Dare #115 + use tangles that start with (all or some) letters: THANKS

I wasn't too fond of this week's Zendala Challenge from Erin at www.thebrightowl.blogspot.com, because I thought there were too many spaces and awkward ones at that…. But I try to do all of the Dares, and I was frankly quite surprised and pleased with my end result with this one. Goes to reinforce that you never know where Zentangle is going to take you! I initially wanted to use tangles for all the letters in the word "THANKS" (which was part of this week's dare), but I decided to stop without using an H or an N, and I'm happy that I left the open space! I'm not sure why it looks like the paper is blue - it's not - it's off-white water-colour paper; but I kind of like it blue!

Zendala Dare #89

It's been a few weeks since I've completed a Zendala. Christmas, setting up and starting a few Zentangle classes, making more of my owls, and now a wonderful new kitten to introduce to house and two resident older cats…. I've been doing lots of tiles to practice various favourite tangles though. I've missed doing the Zendala Dare, and the Zentangle Challenge and hopefully will get back into it. I apologize that there won't be time to comment on everyone's tiles in the next few weeks, but I'm looking, learning and being inspired!
