Zentangle Challenge #143 - UMT - Cruze
This week's Zentangle Challenge from Laura at www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.ca is to use the tangle Cruze. I liked this tangle as soon as I saw it, and found it quite easy to follow the instructions…. as long as you are planning to have the tangle at an angle on the page….. I wanted to have it along one edge of my tile and I couldn't (still can't) for the life of me figure out how to manage that. I'm going to have to practice that one a bit more. Then I decided to use unyun - a favourite of mine, but didn't do the oniony parts right… oh well, I like the effect. Well is new to me, and I like it, but again, didn't follow the instructions properly so it's a variation. By now I was feeling a bit frustrated but pushed on, determined "that there are no mistakes". I don't love this finished tile, but I'm determined to use Cruze, Well and Unyun again soon, and prove to myself that I can do better. So, you never know - I may do another tile for this challenge.
With all new tangles I think that you did a Great Job! It is so fun to see what everyone comes up with on the pairings of the different tangles together!
ReplyDeleteI think your tile is very nicely done. Variations of the established patterns are what makes them become our own.
ReplyDeleteThis tile is lovely. I like your choice of tangles here!
ReplyDeleteThis is just really stinkin cool! I'm still trying to figure out how to approach this challenge, & this is my #1 inspiration piece so far! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteYour finished piece looks really good Sue. I would never know you had struggles if you didn't mention them. NancyD
ReplyDeleteNancy D said " I would never know you had struggles if you didn't mention them." and I agree completely. I think you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteBeatiful!!!! I love Mooka coming out.
ReplyDeleteSue, I like your tile, and I agree about planning cruze to a side you want it to go, I found it very difficult to let it go the way I wanted, so I just let the pen do the work and it turned out to be nice. So is yours. Looks a bit like a boat with nice sails. And the mooka is beautiful springing out.
ReplyDeleteNice job on this. I think it is hard to vary this tangle without a lot of practice.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.....and very interesting!
